Lab’s Role in Saving Patient Infected With “Brain-eating Amoeba" [PODCAST]

Mar 08, 2017

Check out a Lab Medicine podcast below in which pathologist and laboratory professional colleagues at Arkansas Children’s Hospital discuss the lab’s role in saving one of the hospital’s patients, a young girl, from primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM). This rare and almost always fatal disease is caused by Naegleria fowleri, commonly known as the “brain-eating amoeba.”
