Last fall, videos of people frozen in action went viral across the Internet as a part of a trend known as the Mannequin Challenge. The ALS League Belgium took advantage of the phenomenon’s popularity. In an effort to raise funding for medical research relating to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, they created a video featuring members of the laboratory paused in the middle of their work. Raising awareness of the medical laboratory among the public is a challenge, but taking advantage of widespread digital trends is one method to consider.
